Oxymel means “acid and honey,” in this case, raw apple cider vinegar and raw local honey. Herbs have many different constituents in them, and the vitamins and minerals in them are best pulled out with vinegars. Oxymels are a great herbal vitamin if you will, helping replenish your body of what it is lacking. Spring blooms has subtle floral nodes accompanied by a hit of sweetness from the honey. It’s great for taking by itself or adding to your water bottle to take through the day.

Spring Blooms consists of four plants; purple dead nettle, wild violets, dandelion blooms, and stinging nettle.

Purple dead nettle is rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, B, C, K, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and sodium. It has been noted to reduce inflammation, and has astringent properties that will tighten and tone tissues. It can fight the overgrowth of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. The plant contains antioxidants that protect the body from oxidative stress and may reduce the risk of chronic illnesses. It is a diuretic to help increase urine flow and relieve fluid retention and some people have successfully used purple dead nettle to help alleviate allergies.

Wild violets are rich in vitamins and minerals, including calcium, magnesium, and vitamins A and C. They can support heart and circulatory health as well as help move lymph and remove toxins from the blood.

Dandelion blooms have antioxidant properties that may boost the immune system. Dandelions are also rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as vitamin E, iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and B vitamins. They have an affinity for the liver and help normalize blood sugar and cholesterol levels as well.

Stinging nettle contains vitamins A, C, and K, as well as several B vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, linoleic acid, and linolenic acid. It can reduce inflammation by preventing the body from making inflammatory prostaglandins. This may help with painful muscles and joints, arthritis, gout, eczema, and insect bites.
